Effective Web Solutions Limited is an ecommerce company who operate the Motor Trade Index. The Motor Trade Index is an online motoring directory.
Effective Web Solutions Limited (referred to as ‘we’) are the ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to the Motor Trade Index. This means we decide how your personal data is processed and for what purposes. We collect your personal data in order to process your order and advertise your services online. The information we collect includes your name, business name, address, email address, telephone number, mobile number, URL and details of your business activities.
Your payment information will be collected and held by one of our payment providers (either WorldPay, Stripe or Paypal). We do not hold your financial debit/credit card information.
We will not collect any unnecessary personal data from, only data that is relevant to the products/services you have purchased.

We adhere to comply with the obligations under the GDPR by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

To enable us to deliver the products/services you have requested (we may contact you via email/telephone to discuss your order).
To enable us to design the products you have requested such as priority listings, website banners or a company website.
To allow us to actively advertise your business on the Motor Trade Index.

Contract: Processing your personal data is necessary in order to fulfil a sales contract between the us and yourself. If you have purchased a product/service from us, we will need to use your personal data in order to process the order and advertise your business. We will also need to process your personal data if you have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract. If you do not provide the required personal data, we will not be able to fulfil our contract.
Legitimate Interests: We have a real reason to process your data which will be a direct benefit to both you and us. Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential. We only display the personal data you have specified on the Motor Trade Index in order to promote your business.
We do not share, sell or lease your personal details with any third party organisations for the use of marketing purposes.

Customer orders – permanently, in order to satisfy HMRC requirements and track your order history.
Customer enquiries – 2 years post enquiry in order to answer all enquiries.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. All data is securely stored using 1024 bit encryption.
All your personal data is hosted on servers which are located in the UK and is processed by our UK based employees.
No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We have a data protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.
